Our Ministries
From "A Song of Faith"
We are each given particular gifts of the Spirit.
For the sake of the world, God calls all followers of Jesus to Christian ministry.
In the church some are called to specific ministries of leadership,
some witness to the good news, some uphold the art of worship,
some comfort the grieving and guide the wandering,
some build up the community of wisdom,
some stand with the oppressed and work for justice.
To embody God's love in the world,
the work of the church requires and ministry and discipleship of all believers.
Bible Study
Bible Study group meets on every Wednesday
at 10:00 a.m.
Outreach
"Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community” (Anthony J. D'Angelo)
Our Outreach Ministry Team brings awareness to local and global needs and works on pressing social justice issues.
Together with our Community of Faith,
the Outreach Team raises funds through events
like the annual Walk for Mission and leads activities that make a difference beyond the four walls of Chalmers-Castle Downs. Valeda House, Bissell Centre, Operation Christmas Child and projects through the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada and USC Canada are just a few examples.

The team meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Faith Formation
Faith formation is central to the life of Chalmers-Castle Downs United Church and we understand it to be people of all ages and abilities growing in their relationship with and understanding of God, Jesus, the Bible, and their faith. Faith formation is about living as disciples of Jesus in our day-to-day lives at home, at work, in our faith community, and in the world.
Children and Youth: We are currently exploring new and flexible ways to meet the needs of our young families.
Pastoral Care
The Pastoral Care Ministry Team of Chalmers-Castle Downs United Church has oversight of all pastoral care activities in our Community of Faith and works in close collaboration with the Minister.
Pastoral care at Chalmers-Castle Downs
is carried out by many dedicated people who, in their individual ways, reach out with a caring presence to the church community. One-on-one visits, prayer shawls, a phone call, a card of support or some comforting food are just a few examples of our pastoral care in action.
Meeting on Zoom
Most of our leadership teams continue to conduct meetings online.
